  • The Opportunity
    We are looking for a seasoned VP of Engineering to lead and scale our cross-functional engineering organization. This is a founding leadership role — you will partner directly with the CEO and CTO to shape our engineering culture, drive execution across hardware and software, and build the team and systems that take our products from early-stage to market leader. If you thrive in ambiguity, love building from scratch, and have the scars to prove it, we want to talk.

    What You’ll Do
    Leadership & Organization

    • Lead, hire, and develop high-performing engineering teams spanning hardware, embedded software, mobile/app, and cloud infrastructure.

    • Establish a strong engineering culture grounded in ownership, velocity, quality, and continuous improvement.

    • Coach and mentor engineering managers and senior individual contributors; build a succession-ready org.

    • Represent Engineering at the executive level — communicate clearly on progress, risks, and tradeoffs.

    Product Delivery

    • Own end-to-end product delivery across the full stack — from silicon bring-up and firmware to mobile apps and cloud services.

    • Drive disciplined, iterative roadmap execution; balance speed-to-market with technical rigor.

    • Partner with Product and Design to translate customer needs into engineering plans with clear milestones and accountability.

    • Establish and continuously improve development processes appropriate for a fast-moving startup (no bureaucracy for bureaucracy’s sake).

    Architecture & Technical Strategy

    • Set technical direction and ensure architectural decisions are sound, scalable, and aligned with business goals.

    • Manage the inherent complexity of hardware/software co-development — timing, integration, test, and manufacturing readiness.

    • Champion security, reliability, and observability best practices across all product surfaces.

    • Evaluate build-vs-buy decisions; manage vendor and partner relationships.

    Startup Operations

    • Manage the engineering budget; make smart resource allocation decisions in a capital-efficient environment.

    • Work effectively with limited resources — know when to move fast and cut scope, and when to slow down and get it right.

    • Attract and retain top talent; be a compelling spokesperson for the engineering team during recruiting.

     
    What We’re Looking For
    Required Experience

    • 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, including at least 5 years managing cross-functional teams.

    • Demonstrated track record delivering complex products that span hardware, embedded software, mobile/app development, and cloud/backend systems.

    • Hands-on experience leading hardware/firmware and software co-development cycles — you understand the constraints, timelines, and tradeoffs unique to physical products.

    • Proven ability to recruit, build, and scale engineering organizations from early-stage through growth.

    • At least one significant stint at a startup or early-stage company — you know how to operate without a playbook.

    Technical Depth

    • Strong working knowledge of embedded systems and firmware development (RTOS, bare-metal, BSP/HAL).

    • Solid understanding of modern cloud architecture (microservices, APIs, DevOps/CI-CD, observability).

    • Familiarity with mobile/app development lifecycles (iOS, Android, or cross-platform).

    • Enough hardware fluency to engage credibly with EE and mechanical engineers — PCB design, signal integrity, manufacturing constraints.

    Startup DNA

    • Comfortable with ambiguity — you can set direction when the path isn’t clear and course-correct quickly.

    • Bias for action; you know when a decision is better than the perfect decision.

    • Low-ego, high-ownership mindset — willing to roll up your sleeves and write the spec, review the PR, or staff the tradeshow booth.

    • Strong communicator who can distill complex technical realities into crisp updates for the board, investors, and customers.

     
    Nice to Have

    • Experience in the tools, industrial, or IoT space.

    • Prior experience as a VP Eng, CTO, or co-founder at a venture-backed startup.

    • Background in mechanical or electrical engineering in addition to software.

    • Experience with regulatory and certification processes (UL, CE, FCC, etc.).

    • Familiarity with lean hardware manufacturing and supply chain fundamentals.

  • The Opportunity
    We are developing a suite of radar products that operates in the Ultra-Wideband (UWB) frequency band, and we need a senior RF engineer who can own the RF design from concept through production. This is a hands-on, full-lifecycle role - you will design, simulate, prototype, and validate RF circuits while simultaneously optimizing for real-world performance and manufacturable cost. You will work closely with embedded software, mechanical, and product teams, and your decisions will directly shape what ships. This is not a role for someone who wants to hand off to layout or fab; we need someone who sees the whole problem.

    What You’ll Do
    RF Circuit Design & Development

    • Lead the RF circuit design for our UWB radar product, from architecture definition through schematic capture and layout review.

    • Select and evaluate RF components — antennas, LNAs, mixers, filters, VCOs, power amplifiers — balancing performance, availability, and unit cost.

    • Design RF front-end circuits optimized for target signal characteristics.

    • Define and own the antenna design or selection strategy, including near-field and far-field characterization.

    • Create PCB layout to ensure signal integrity.

    Simulation, Prototyping & Validation

    • Perform RF system-level link budget analysis and circuit-level simulation using industry-standard tools (ADS, HFSS, CST, or equivalent with HFSS preferred).

    • Build and validate prototypes; own the bring-up and debug process from first power-on through functional verification.

    • Develop and execute RF test plans covering S-parameters, noise figure, gain, linearity, spurious emissions, and phase noise.

    • Use RF lab equipment proficiently: VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and anechoic chamber setups.

    • Identify root causes of RF performance issues and drive design-of-experiments to resolve them.

    Cost Optimization & Manufacturing Readiness

    • Drive cost reduction throughout the design cycle — component selection, BOM rationalization, and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) decisions.

    • Partner with supply chain and contract manufacturing teams to ensure RF designs are producible at volume with acceptable yield.

    • Define RF test fixtures and production test strategies that balance coverage with throughput and cost.

    • Manage RF component approved vendor lists (AVLs) and qualification processes.

    Compliance & Standards

    • Navigate FCC Part 15 UWB rules and international equivalents (ETSI EN 302 065); support pre-compliance and accredited lab testing.

    • Work with certification bodies and test labs to achieve regulatory approval efficiently.

    • Ensure designs meet applicable RF safety and emissions standards.

     
    What We’re Looking For
    Required Experience

    • 5+ years of hands-on RF circuit design experience, with a strong preference for candidates with 10 or more years.

    • Demonstrated experience designing RF systems in the GHz range; UWB (3.1–10.6 GHz), radar, or pulse-based system experience is a significant plus.

    • Proficiency in RF simulation tools (ADS, HFSS, CST, Sonnet, or equivalent) and schematic/layout tools (Altium, Cadence, or equivalent).

    • Deep familiarity with RF test and measurement equipment and methodology.

    • Track record of taking RF designs from concept through production, including regulatory certification.

    Technical Depth

    • Strong fundamentals in RF and microwave theory: transmission lines, matching networks, S-parameters, noise, and nonlinear device behavior.

    • Experience with antenna design or antenna selection.

    • Solid understanding of PCB design for RF.

    • Familiarity with UWB waveforms and the regulatory constraints unique to UWB operation.

    • Ability to read and author detailed RF specifications and test plans.

    Startup DNA

    • Comfortable owning problems end-to-end without a large support structure around you.

    • Pragmatic about tradeoffs — you know when 90% of theoretical performance at 60% of the cost is the right answer.

    • Strong communicator who can explain RF constraints and tradeoffs to non-RF engineers and cross-functional stakeholders.  This role will work collaboratively with Resolv’s entire engineering team.

    • Self-directed; you can set your own agenda, manage your schedule, and escalate the right things at the right time.

     
    Nice to Have

    • Prior experience with UWB ranging, radar, or FMCW/IR-UWB radar architectures.

    • Familiarity with chipsets from Qorvo, NXP, Decawave (Qorvo), Novelda, or similar UWB/radar IC vendors.

    • Background in signal processing or DSP relevant to radar (range-Doppler, CFAR, clutter rejection).

    • Experience with MEMS sensors or sensor fusion in hardware products.

    • Knowledge of IEEE 802.15.4a/4z UWB standards.

    • Experience with hand-held or battery-powered product constraints (power budgets, thermal, packaging).

  • The Opportunity
    The intelligence in our Jobsite Intelligence Tools lives in the models you will build. Our hardware generates rich, novel data streams from custom-designed RF sensors, UWB radar, and other sensing modalities, data that has no off-the-shelf model waiting for it. Your job is to develop the machine learning systems that turn those raw signals into actionable insight: What material is behind this wall? How far away is that rebar? What changed since the last scan? This is not a role for someone who fine-tunes pretrained vision models and calls it a day. We need someone who is comfortable working with unconventional sensor data, building training pipelines largely from scratch, and deploying models onto constrained edge hardware. If that challenge excites you, we want to talk.

    What You’ll Do
    Model Development & Sensor Data Analysis

    • Design, train, and evaluate machine learning models to extract meaningful insight from RF, UWB radar, and other sensor data streams unique to the as-built environment.

    • Develop signal processing and feature engineering pipelines that transform raw, high-dimensional sensor data into representations suitable for learning.

    • Build classification, regression, segmentation, and anomaly detection models appropriate to jobsite sensing tasks (material identification, distance estimation, structural characterization, change detection).

    • Work closely with RF and hardware engineers to understand sensor characteristics, noise profiles, and data artifacts — and turn that knowledge into better models.

    • Iterate rapidly on model architectures; know when a simple model beats a complex one and when it doesn’t.

    Data Infrastructure & Labeling

    • Build and maintain data collection pipelines from prototype hardware in lab and field settings.

    • Design and manage datasets for novel sensing modalities where labeled data does not yet exist — including defining labeling strategies and ground truth collection methods.

    • Develop tools and workflows for data annotation, curation, versioning, and quality control.

    • Identify data gaps and work with the hardware team to instrument collection campaigns that address them.

    Edge Deployment & Optimization

    • Optimize trained models for deployment on resource-constrained edge hardware: quantization, pruning, knowledge distillation, and operator fusion.

    • Work with embedded software engineers to integrate models into the on-device inference pipeline using frameworks such as TensorFlow Lite, ONNX Runtime, or vendor-specific SDKs.

    • Profile and benchmark inference latency, memory footprint, and power consumption on target hardware.

    • Make principled tradeoffs between model accuracy and the real constraints of running at the edge in a battery-powered handheld tool.

    Experimentation & Research

    • Stay current with relevant ML research — signal processing, radar ML, sensor fusion, and efficient on-device inference — and apply it where it matters.

    • Design rigorous experiments; track hypotheses, results, and learnings in a reproducible, shareable way.

    • Contribute to internal documentation of model architectures, dataset decisions, and deployment configurations.

    • Evaluate and integrate third-party models, pretrained weights, or open-source components where they provide genuine leverage.

     
    What We’re Looking For
    Required Experience

    • 2–5 years of professional experience developing and deploying machine learning models.

    • Strong Python fluency; deep familiarity with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.

    • Experience working with non-image, non-text data — time series, signal data, sensor streams, or similar — is essential. 

    • Demonstrated ability to build training data pipelines and datasets, including in domains where labeled data is scarce or must be created from scratch.

    • Solid grounding in ML fundamentals: loss functions, regularization, evaluation metrics, cross-validation, and avoiding the many ways models can fool you.

    Technical Depth

    • Experience with model compression and on-device deployment (TFLite, ONNX, CoreML, TensorRT, or similar).

    • Comfort with data versioning and experiment tracking tools (DVC, MLflow, Weights & Biases, or equivalent).

    • Proficiency with scientific Python stack: NumPy, SciPy, pandas, matplotlib.

    • Familiarity with Linux-based development environments and embedded Linux targets.

    Startup DNA

    • Comfortable building from scratch — no existing datasets, no existing model baselines, no existing pipelines on day one.

    • Intellectually curious about the physical world; you find it interesting that RF signals can reveal what’s hidden behind a wall.

    • Pragmatic problem solver: you can distinguish between a research problem and an engineering problem, and you know how to make progress on both.

    • Clear communicator who can explain model behavior, limitations, and confidence to hardware engineers, product managers, and field users who are not ML practitioners.

     
    Nice to Have

    • Background in physics, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline — the ability to reason about what the sensor is physically measuring matters here.

    • Experience with few-shot learning, self-supervised learning, or domain adaptation in low-data regimes.

    • Familiarity with C/C++ for performance-critical inference code or embedded integration.

    • Experience deploying models to microcontrollers or DSPs (Cortex-M, RISC-V, Hexagon DSP, or similar).

    • Prior work in construction tech, industrial sensing, geophysics, or physical inspection applications.
