What building materials can the InSite Pro see through?

Currently, the InSite Pro can see through the following: 
Drywall (1/2"-5/8", double layer, skim coated, fire rated, moisture resistant)
Insulation (fiberglass, spray foam, cellulose, foam board)
Cement backer board

We expect the current technology to be able to penetrate even more materials in the future via software updates.

What can the InSite Pro detect behind walls?

Through testing, we can confirm that with the InSite Pro you can see the following: 
Wood studs
Metal studs
PVC pipes
Metal pipes
Copper refrigerant line
Ducts
Romex
≥18 gauge wiring
PEX tubing
Water
Pests
Electronics

We plan to support specific analysis and detection modes (e.g. moisture mode) in the future via software updates.

How accurate are the scans?

The scans are 1:1 with what’s behind the surface, +/- 1/2" on center.

How long does the battery last? What type of battery is it?

Accepted Answer

The battery life is estimated to be about one hour of continuous scanning and it uses a 12V rechargeable power tool battery.

Is it safe to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the InSite Pro is entirely safe to use. While it produces an x-ray quality image, it is not emitting any x-rays and is in fact less than 1/100th the power of a typical cell phone.

Does it require a subscription?

Accepted Answer

No, you do not need to pay a subscription to use the InSite Pro to see live what is behind your drywall. However, the ability to store, share and export the scans does require a subscription - exact pricing for this is to be determined.

Question 7

Does it require WiFi or Bluetooth to work?

Accepted Answer

You will need to connect the InSite Pro to WiFi and BLE for setup and firmware updates. However, when using it out in the field it does not need to be connected.

If you do choose to subscribe, a WiFi connection will be required to upload your scans to the cloud for viewing, sharing and exporting from the app, however they will be stored locally on the device until a connection is made.
